“The Secret to Living is Giving.”
This is a quote I believe we could all live by. In this book, it’s apparent that giving back even just a little bit can lead to massive success for anyone. The basket brigade was created by Tony Robbins and it allows people who couldn’t otherwise afford a Thanksgiving dinner, the chance to do so. It also allows them the chance to grow as a person. Each basket has a copy of this book and I can attest that it will change your life. This was the first personal development book I ever read and it kick started a path for me that I’m forever grateful. I now read 2-5 books a week and this book was the foundation. Some big takeaways for me:
- The past doesn’t equal the future. We all fail, we all suck, does this define who we are? Not in the least. If you fail, fail forward and enjoy the process. We all suck at times and it’s in these times that we learn the most. Know that you’ll fail but also know that if you can look up, you can get up!
- Whatever you think about most, you’ll experience. Our thoughts truly become things and what where focus goes, energy flows. Keep a close eye on that inner dialogue and tell it to shut up!
- Probably my biggest takeaway is massive action. In order to effect change in yourself, you must take massive action baby! Suck at finances? Read 20 finance books and master it. Don’t just accept failure, master it and master your weaknesses. Take massive action in any area of your life and you’ll see change and see it quickly. Don’t be a bitch and take massive action!
- The only thing that matters is to believe it’s possible for you to have what you want. Anything the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Create some belief in yourself. We’re all born naked and speechless, we are no different than the most successful people in the world. We all have 24 hours in the day, it’s how we use these that makes us great.
